Wisdom for the ages infused by single track, snow, and spiritual adventures.
I love to adventure travel and I go in for some kind of physical adrenaline spike everyday no matter where I am. I choose my buzz from a full quiver of activities—mountain biking (my main squeeze), gravel grinding, hiking, climbing, every kind of ski, snow, and water adventure, yoga, dancing, and anything with a paddle. You name it, if there is motion involved—I’m in! My travels are always built around singletrack or snow. I feel it’s the optimal way to experience a new culture—living at ground zero, integrated into the sights, aromas, and sounds of life in a new location is travel in brilliant 3-D style. Come along with me for adventure and play ideas—age is no limit!

Traveling to Zermatt, Switzerland is like landing in a chapter of ‘Heidi’ only with gourmet meals, great friends, and deep winter as the cast of characters.

…Jeff rode right on top of this fat boy—yikes—so be ready alert. Ironically, the sound that the flywheel makes on a bike sounds almost exactly like the rattle of the snake’s keratin, so that provided a kind of freaky adrenaline rush during the rides….
A combination of sleuthing and intuition led us to book Treasures of Lisboa with Ruthy and Marcio an adorable couple of entrepreneurs who hosted us for four straight hours of food, facts, and fun…
I was in heaven checking out the old typewriters, text-style wallpaper, writer’s nooks, beautiful art, and fun artifacts like the giant scale in the very nice gym.
This requirement is exactly why a day spent playing in our winter wonderland always feels like an invigorating suspension into the spiritual.
‘Everything I love the most happens most everyday for me when I am in the Northeast Kingdom.’
New Zealand is all the things a dream island should be: no snakes, no Lyme ticks, no predators, sparkling fresh air, lush rainforests, and…
The people of Sri Lanka are kind, beautiful souls. It was a spiritual and spectacular trip in every possible way, one I highly recommend. The riding was rigorous and varied, never a dull day!
